On account of Mordicai very properly mentioning the genius of Jack "King" Kirby, who was one of the creators of Black Bolt, in the comments to the post just below, I am rectifying the situation by posting some of Jack's original art of the Inhuman King.
See, the reason I chose the other image of Black Bolt yesterday was so that I could say that I liked mine better. And to show just how wrong most comic book artists are these days when they try to do Kirby's characters. Kirby is big part of my own personal pantheon of art gods. Honestly, he's one of the two or three most important artists ever to me, and in some ways everything I have ever done draws from him at least a little bit. So there is no way I would ever be able to compare one of my drawings to one of Kirby's and say that I liked mine better. Ha, that's just foolishness.
Anyway, Mordicai called my bluff (he's damn perceptive) so feast your eyes on a few of Jack "King" Kirby's Black Bolts!!!

It is an important ethical code I follow-- one of the tenets is to periodically scream "KIRBY!" at the top of my lungs. Usually followed by something like: I AM THE STORM! or DARKSEID IS! or I AM THE TIGERFORCE AT THE HEART OF ALL LIVING THINGS!
Yes, King Kirby it is.
Mordicai, that comment did more to solidify my monumental admiration for you than you could possibly imagine. First it was "The Worm Ouroboros," then it was the whole Baatezu thing, and now this. If we ever meet, I will greet you as a boon companion, hug you and kiss you on the forehead. Tigerforce indeed!
Titus, I often wonder if Kirby and his impact on comics is a more or less American, or at least North American, phenomenon. I am guessing (and hoping) that your comment is an indication that his art has journeyed far and wide and is indeed well known in Scotland.
